Week 9

My focus this week was primarily on prepping the Parklife site for launch in the next few weeks as we are getting a lot more branding work for other companies. Our site is ran through wordpress so transferring the information from the former page to this one was fairly straightforward, with the exception of adding custom html for certain aspects of the site. With transitioning to doing more design work, we are expanding our portfolio so we can bring in new clients primarily focusing on positive social change such as working with nonprofits.  highlights: beginning to work with more socially positive clients feels more like what I want to do long-term so getting more experience is really exciting and beneficial. problems: NA issues: NA

Week 8

This week mostly consisted of working on collateral materials for Parkhub, as well as more collateral work for Harmony NC and some continuation of projects from the week prior. I wanted to get a start on editing the Parklife website but client work/requests kept coming in throughout the week so I wasn't able to get as much done as I would've liked. With being on spring break, I felt like I had a lot more energy to focus on work instead of splitting my time and brainpower between school and work and I'm looking forward to when this is my main focus and the design that will come from it.  » What role do the designers at your site play in the development of concepts and strategies for its clients/customers?     Ultimately, the role we have depends a lot on the needs of the clients and their level of trust. One of our clients March To The Polls based in Dallas Texas usually gives us a LOT of creative freedom in everything from the design of their stationary to the overa...

Week 7

This week I continued working on collateral materials for Harmony, as well as video editing for Celero Commerce primarily, but I am about to start working on editing the new Parklife website. We have been in the process of moving to a new site to hopefully expand our client base and move into the world of larger agencies since we work with companies across the country- rather than exclusively local to NC. In the next few weeks, I'll be focusing on transferring and redesigning the portfolio section of our site to create the best possible look overall. Highlights N/A Problems N/A Issues N/A » What have you learned about interacting with clients/customers (if applicable)? A lot of our older clients ask for personal phone numbers which is something that I'm not used to since I haven't been working in the industry for long, but I much prefer email communication. Generally speaking, our clients fall into one of 2 categories for design work; fantastic to work with and understands...

Week 6

2/27/2023 - 3/5/2023 This week I continued a lot of the same projects from last week, but also started working on more collateral material for Harmony NC to prep for their business summit and expo later this year. In the next month or so,  I will be starting to work on rebranding both the business summit and expo to better match with Harmony's overall brand, as well as fitting in with the co brand of Seen Coworking that I worked on last semester. I've also been continuing to work on voiceover and video editing for Celero Commerce and Parkhub. Highlights: Working on the Celero video has allowed me to really control the process from start to finish including scripting, finding B roll,  recording, and putting everything together, creating an interesting perspective on the process. Problems: N/A Issues: N/A What outside influences impact your employer and their business? For example, are there licensing issues, state statutes, economic concerns, or other external pressures t...
