Week 7

This week I continued working on collateral materials for Harmony, as well as video editing for Celero Commerce primarily, but I am about to start working on editing the new Parklife website. We have been in the process of moving to a new site to hopefully expand our client base and move into the world of larger agencies since we work with companies across the country- rather than exclusively local to NC. In the next few weeks, I'll be focusing on transferring and redesigning the portfolio section of our site to create the best possible look overall.

» What have you learned about interacting with clients/customers (if applicable)?

A lot of our older clients ask for personal phone numbers which is something that I'm not used to since I haven't been working in the industry for long, but I much prefer email communication. Generally speaking, our clients fall into one of 2 categories for design work; fantastic to work with and understands the limitations of design, or would prefer if we functioned as a content factory. The former of the 2 are awesome and are incredibly helpful in creating the best design possible, but I have run into a couple issues where the client is constantly asking for more and more changes outside of the scope of a certain project, creating some issues.

» What strategies lead to more effective client/customer relations?

Clear communication of what the deliverables should be is incredibly helpful when it comes to client relationships as it keeps everyone on the same page about the project without feeling overwhelming.
